Welcome to Junior High Science!

Since most people learn best by using all of their senses to bring in information  and to understand it,  I try to use a variety and combination of methods for each class. We read,  sing, draw, dance, discuss, create, look, touch....and even dissect (but not until the 8th grade)!

The main focus in 7th grade is biology.  We will study cells, heredity, and - my favorite - human biology. 
The text we use is Prentice Hall Science Explorer: Cells and Heredity, Human Biology and Health, and Chemical Interactions. 

In 8th grade we study a variety of things, but  mainly all aspects of the ocean, both physical and biological.  We also do some chemistry and physics.  Of course, the best part of our studies are the dissections.
The text we use is Prentice Hall Science Explorer:  Chemical Building Blocks, Earth's Waters, Animals, and Motion, Forces and Energy.

I will have flexible "office hours" for additional help, as needed, although it will mostly be Wednesday from 3:15 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
